KJ Theatre Arts Company
What is KJ Company?
Company is the name given to the group of students who represent KJ Theatre Arts at Festivals (competitions) in and around the local area. We enter a variety of festivals, some are fun and more relaxed, others are quite competitive and students compete to gain a place and a mark that will qualify them to take part in the All England regional finals.
KJ Theatre Arts Company is invite only and students are eligible to be invited if they take Ballet, Tap and Modern classes. We recommend students take additional classes such as Jazz, Musical Theatre, Commercial, Contemporary to allow them to experience different styles and advance their technique, strength and performance skills.
Students are invited to audition to be part of company based on their work ethic and performance in their other classes. Please note that students are not automatically invited if they take the core disciplines, many other factors are taken into consideration. Students will be invited if we feel they reach the technical and performance level require to compete.
If students successfully audition they must attend company class as part of their weekly timetable to continue to work on and develop their technique, strength, flexibility and performance skills. In company class students will audition to see which style they will compete in and whether as a solo, duet, trio, quartet or group. Not all students will perform a solo at competitions.
