By attending class students and parents agree to the terms and conditions.
Responsibilities
These terms and conditions and any forms you have signed or will sign are an agreement between you and KJ Theatre Arts in connection to classes or any services superseding any prior agreement.
Attendance at class is deemed to be an acceptance of these terms and conditions.
It is the responsibility of the Parent/Guardian of each pupil to notify a Principal of any illness or injury that may affect their participation in class.
It is the responsibility of the Parent/Guardian to ensure that we have the correct details for you and the student and keep us updated on any changes to contact details or health details.
In the event that we consider you to be in breach of these terms and conditions or we feel that your child is being disruptive to other pupils, teachers or staff, we reserve the right to exclude your child from class or any KJ Theatre Arts event.
KJ Theatre Arts strives to maintain a high standard of appearance and therefore pupils are expected to wear the set school uniform to every class. KJ Theatre Arts teachers may find it necessary to exclude a pupil from class due to health and safety reasons, i.e. if uniform is not worn.
It is the responsibility of the Parent/Guardian to check the website regularly for notices and updates to the timetable etc.
Payment
Any fees not paid by the end of the first week back to classes may incur a surcharge and will not qualify for any discounts.
KJ Theatre Arts may however arrange for a payment schedule to be made if applicants are unable to pay the full amount due. This must be arranged with the Principals prior to the commencement of each term. The outstanding amount must be received in full by the last day of each term.
A trial period of ten weeks will be given for each pupil, after this trial period, six weeks term time notice must be given before the withdrawal of a student or termination of any discipline. Failure to give appropriate notice will result in the Parent/Guardian being liable for the fees for the notice period.
KJ Theatre Arts reserves the right to refuse entry to any pupil whose fees have not been paid by the agreed date.
All fees are subject to increase without notice to applicants; however efforts will be made to give this prior to billing.
Payment can be made via bank transfer or card payment (via stripe link on invoices).
Fees are not wavered in respect of family holidays, school trips, school exams or short term sickness or injury. Special circumstances may be made for long term illness or injury.
Lessons
Lessons are timetabled on a termly basis. Parents/Guardians are expected to view the new timetable at the end of each term.
Lessons are subject to change times and room without notice. There will be no refunds for classes missed by the applicant.
To enable the student understand certain corrections, physical contact may be necessary. All staff are qualified in their line of teaching and have valid DBS certificates.
At the end of term we will have a parent viewing class to enable parents to see the progress their child is making and what each class entails.
Festivals
Festivals will be by invitation only and must audition to be part of the company.
Students are only eligible for festivals, and will only be invited, if they do all 3 genres (Ballet, Modern, Tap). Students in Baby/Mini sections may be invited to compete in a single genre in order to introduce them to competitions. It is not a requirement at this age that they take all three genres.
By committing to festivals, students are expected to attend rehearsals prior to each festival.
Failure to attend rehearsals may result in your child being removed from the festival.
All costumes must be agreed by a Principal and the choreographer of the routine.
Choreographed dances are the ownership of KJ Theatre Arts and must not be whole or partly copied for use for any other purpose than for KJ Theatre Arts, unless permission is sought from a Principal.
KJ Theatre Arts reserves the right to refuse entry into a festival if fees are not paid and/or the student is not rehearsed and it is seen that the dance is not fit to perform.
Festival fees will be discussed when a student is invited to perform.
Examinations
KJ Theatre Arts enters children for exams at the recommendation of the teacher and after an assessment class by a Principal.
Students with less than 75% attendance may not be entered if it is deemed that they are not performing at their optimum level.
If a student is to be entered for an examination, extra lessons may be provided to bring the students up to their optimum level.
If the extra lessons are not attended by the student they may be withdrawn from the examination without refund.
Fees are expected within 14 days of billing.
KJ Theatre Arts reserves the right to change the date and/or time of the examination without prior notice however we will endeavour to provide notice.
Students
KJ Theatre Arts can only be responsible for the safety and well-being of each student during class times and will not be held responsible for the children outside of the classroom.
Occasionally photographs may be taken for publicity purposes. If you object to us using your child’s image, please put in writing addressed to the Principals.
KJ Theatre Arts does not accept responsibility for injury, loss or damage to clothing or property.
All student information is confidential, for the use of KJ Theatre Arts only and will not be passed on to any third parties.
Data
The following information will be kept on current students of the school, Forename, Surname, DOB, Address, Medical Conditions, Parent/Guardian Forename, Parent/Guardian Surname, email address, contact phone number, emergency contact name and relationship to student, emergency contact number. You are required to keep us up to date of any changes to this information, in particular phone numbers and email addresses. All students under the age of 16 must be registered by a parent/guardian.
Once a student has left the school this data will be deleted after one year. Data is kept for a year in case a student returns. Once a year has passed the above data will be deleted. If a student re-joins after a year they will need to re complete registration.
None of the above information will be passed on to any third party.
You are entitled to see the information we hold on you at any time.
Communication and Privacy
If you take a class with us we will contact you via email regarding any information that relates directly to your class. We will also communicate upcoming events, offers, and other information relevant to KJ Theatre Arts.
We will not pass on your information to anyone else.
If you have any queries regarding email communication please do not hesitate to contact us.
We require a contact number from you in case there is any emergency in class where we would need to contact you. You phone number will only be used outside of this time if we need to let you know something at short notice, i.e. if a class is cancelled due to snow or your teacher is unwell.
By agreeing to these terms and conditions and by joining our school you consent to allowing KJ Theatre Arts to contact you with necessary information about the school.
